WOODSTOCK, NY (CelebrityAccess) — Dayglo Presents, the independent concert promoter led by industry veteran Peter Shapiro, announced it has taken over operation of the historic Bearsville Theater.
According to Dayglo, the company will take on oversight of the theater while respecting its storied history and role in the community.
The team at the revived Bearsville Theater includes new General Manager Frank Bango and while Mike Campbell has been announced as the venue’s new Talent Buyer.
Located in Woodstock, New York, the historic venue was originally built by Albert Grossman, the famed manager behind acts such as Bob Dylan and Janis Joplin.
More recently, the theater was re-opened in 2021 by its current owner, Lizzie Van after a multi-million dollar restoration.
Following its rehab, the Bearsville Theater includes two performance spaces – a 400-capacity auditorium, inclusive of adjacent lounge seating, and the smaller lounge, which can accommodate up to 75 fans.
The theater’s artist hospitality spaces have been fully updated, including the addition of a dedicated green room, along with an adjoining laundry, a full kitchen area, and a large dining facility which can also be used for VIP events such as meet & greets.
The soundstage built by Grossman for Todd Rundgren’s video productions have been repurposed as a production soundstage that includes rehearsal and recording facilities plus a private recording studio and creative offices.
Artists booked for the venue’s 2024 season include Don Was, Guster, Dawes, Guided By Voices, Drive-By Truckers, Mdou Moctar, The Beths, Andy Frasco & The U.N., Dresden Dolls, The Zombies, The Jayhawks and more to be announced.
